Description
The Petit Verdot grapes are nicknamed our ‘pixie vineyard’. The canopy and shoot growth is small in relation to Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard, but it’s true when they say that “dynamite comes in small packages”!
The berries are small and have intense concentrations of flavour. Additionally, the phenolics and tannins are fully ripe at harvest, producing a very drinkable stand-alone wine.
The farm’s unique terroir allows complete phenolic ripeness even at low grape sugar levels. The wine has been aged in 225 L French oak barrels for 18 months.
Our Petit Verdot flavours consist of appealing black cherry, and blueberry seamed with supple chalky tannins.
Pairs well with beef & lamb and spicy dishes.
